We spoke to Alondra residents, Chris and Geoff about their lifestyle here at Alondra Residences and how they kept busy during COVID-19 lockdowns in Queensland
How have you kept busy at Alondra throughout the COVID-19 pandemic?
Geoff: We have been FaceTiming the family quite a bit seeing as we can’t see them in person at the moment…I have been going for walks, and instead of going to the gym, I have been doing exercises at home.
We have also been watching a lot of Netflix! You hear about people working from home and their internet not coping. But I must say that we have not been affected at all. Here at Alondra, it is an independent internet service, totally separate for the NBN network so it’s very fast.
Both: We are sad about missing our April family holiday this year. Every Easter for the last 30+ years we have been going to Coolangatta, since our daughter first started high school. But we both always try to be positive people, and that certainly helps!
Chris: A few weeks ago, I asked Geoff to get my painting equipment out. I haven’t painted in a while so it’s nice to get back into it.
Geoff: Every afternoon we have a 5pm sundowner on our balcony. The view of the sunset is great and the weather has been fantastic, it’s just lovely.
How has Alondra’s in-house concierge service made your life easier during these times?
Geoff: We regularly order chef cooked meals which come from Zion, just over the road. They drop the meals at concierge and then concierge bring the meals up to us.
Chris: I have been cooking for too many years, so it’s nice that we can order delicious, hot meals through Zion.
